Denise Richards: 'I always wanted more children'

Denise Richards has revealed that she always wanted to have more children.

The Wild Things actress, who has two young daughters with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, recently adopted a newborn baby girl named Eloise Joni after her late mother Joni.

Richards said during an appearance on The View that she had wanted a sibling for 7-year-old daughter Sam and 6-year-old Lola Rose. However, she further explained that she was hesitant about expanding her family without being in a committed relationship.

"I've always wanted more children and [I] had to make a decision, 'Do I wait to find the right partner or do it on my own?' So I just did it on my own," she said.

Richards also revealed that she was not insistent upon adopting a girl and would have welcomed a son with open arms, adding: "I was actually open to either gender and I started the process two years ago. The baby is such a blessing. Sami and Lola help so much and pick out her clothes and feed her."

She has credited Eloise with bringing "so much joy" into her life, calling the child a 'beautiful little soul".
