Soulja Boy 'buys $55m jet for 21st birthday'

Soulja Boy has celebrated his birthday by spending $55 million (£33.5m) on a private jet.

The 'Crank That' rapper turned 21 in style this week by purchasing a G5 aircraft, according to a member of his management team.

Soulja Boy bought the plane itself for $35m (£21.3m) and is now spending $20m (£12.1m) on a set of luxurious add-ons, including 12 custom-made Italian leather seats, flat-screen TVs and four liquor bars, reports TMZ.

He will also alter the aesthetics of the aircraft with a customised travertine-tiled floor, a revamped bathroom, Brazilian hardwood cabinets and an exterior paint job bearing his logo.

The 'Kiss Me Thru The Phone' star is also scheduled to throw a $300,000 (£183,000) birthday party in Miami tonight.

Dwight Howard, Bow Wow and Sean Kingston are expected to be in attendance.

Soulja Boy recently hit the headlines when hackers posted racist and homophobic messages on his official Facebook page.
