Ryan Phillippe gives surname to ex's baby

Ryan Phillippe has reportedly allowed an ex-girlfriend to give her baby his last name, even though he has not been confirmed as the father.

The Lincoln Laywer star's former lover Alexis Knapp gave birth to a girl named Kailana in July, having claimed since the announcement of her pregnancy in March that the child is Phillippe's.

Although the results of a paternity test have not yet been revealed, a birth certificate recently obtained by TMZ lists the child's full name as Kailana Phillippe-Knapp. However, the documentation does not name Phillippe as the father.

The 36-year-old actor has pledged to provide financial support to Knapp if he is proven to be Kailana's father. He was also reported to have been present at the birth.

Phillippe already has two children - Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7 - with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon.

He previously described himself as a "hands-on parent" and listed fatherhood as his "greatest achievement".
