Westlife Kian Egan, Jodi Albert expecting first child

Westlife star Kian Egan and his wife Jodi Albert have announced that they are expecting their first child.

The 'What About Now' singer first confirmed the news on Twitter this afternoon, declaring: "Myself and my wife are delighted to say we are expecting our first baby! We are so happy and cannot wait to be parents."

As fans rushed to congratulate the couple, Egan replied: "Thank you all so much for the lovely messages. We are so excited to be parents. Thanks for all the love and support."

Albert, whose girlband Wonderland is managed by Egan, echoed his sentiment on her own profile.

"Thank you so much to everyone for all the excitement and congrats messages about our baby news," she wrote. "We can't wait! Love to you all."

Egan and ex-Hollyoaks actress Albert married in May 2009. They dated for over four years before becoming engaged on Christmas Day 2007.

Egan was forced to reassure Westlife fans in April that a Twitter 'announcement' of his departure from the group was fake.
