Alice Cooper Halloween attraction to open at Universal Studios

Universal Studios theme park will create a new Halloween attraction based on Alice Cooper's 1975 album Welcome To My Nightmare.

The 'Alice Cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare' maze will lead guests through an insane asylum, guillotine decapitations and a frightening encounter with a giant snake.

Tracks from Cooper's upcoming record Welcome 2 My Nightmare, a sequel to the 1975 LP, will be played throughout the giant maze.

Cooper said of the attraction: "We'll be creating this living horror movie within screaming distance of the sound stages where horror movies first began [at Universal Studios], so there's no place more appropriate to offer a preview of the new 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare'. This will be a nightmare that will haunt visitors' dreams for a long time to come."

'Alice Cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare' debuts as part of Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, which kicks off on September 23 and runs through October 31.

Cooper's Welcome 2 My Nightmare is released in September in the US and the UK.
