The couple reportedly began dating in May, after they were seen kissing at an awards ceremony. Appearing in their first joint interview together, Reid and Houghton told ITV's This Morning that they are in love.
"I know what the real thing is. I was very nervous when I first met Chantelle not to go straight in because my heart was still a bit broken back then, but she's mended it," Reid explained. "It feels like there's no pressure - at first I was a bit stand-offish and I was like 'hold on' - I was scared of love after for better for worse."
Houghton said: "Obviously I've got a lot going on personally as well but Alex has been amazing, he just makes me feel so secure and happy and just made me feel complete really."
Cage fighter Reid, who split from Katie Price earlier this year, added that the "relaxed" relationship "feels right", while Houghton said that she was ignoring any negative press.
"I don't really take any notice of it, I'm coming to the age - I'm 28 next month - and I don't really care what people throw at you anymore," she said. "I'm just so glad that I'm happy and sticks and stones..."
However, Reid admitted: "You know, I'm human and it does affect me. If someone calls you something nasty I don't like it but then I'm bigger than that, move on..."
Asked by presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford if their relationship could survive the press attention, the couple - both former Celebrity Big Brother winners - were adamant that it would.
"You do think, 'Why didn't I just go and date a girl from the library?'" Reid began, before Houghton interjected: "But you can't help who you fall for, can you? People might say bad things but I don't care what they say. As long as we're happy, that's the main thing."
