Amy Winehouse's Camden home 'to become foundation HQ'

The Amy Winehouse Foundation will deal with "causes close to her heart", the late singer's father Mitch has said. Her management and record label have backed plans to base it in the property.
"It could include help for children in trouble, kids suffering health problems, children's hospices and more," Mitch explained. "We want to make a positive difference."
According to The Sun, the decision was reached after the family discussed a number of options, including selling the £2.5m ($4.1m) house.
"They think it's too precious to give up, hence the new HQ idea," a source said. "They don't want to rent it out and if they sold it they think it could attract the wrong kind of buyer as it was where Amy passed away. They may sell one day but that would be some way off."
Work has now begun on setting up the charity and a mission statement will be revealed on September 14, when Amy would have celebrated her 28th birthday.
"Everyone is united in making it a success - the label, her family, friends and management," the insider said. "Having the offices in her old house is something they all thought made sense.
"Mitch has big plans and needs a nice environment where employees will be able to carry out their work properly."
The duet Amy recorded with Tony Bennett will be released in September, with all royalties going directly to the foundation.
