Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber lead Teen Choice winners

Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and The Vampire Diaries have all triumphed at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.

Gomez won a total of five gongs across a variety of categories. She claimed the 'Choice TV Actress (Comedy)' award for her role in Wizards of Waverly Place, 'Choice Single' for 'Who Says', 'Choice Love Song' for 'Love You Like a Love Song' and the 'Choice Female Hottie' award.

She also won the 'Choice Music Group' award alongside her band Selena Gomez and the Scene.

Bieber took four awards across a spread of categories, winning 'Choice Male Artist', 'Choice Male Hottie', 'Choice TV Villain' for his role in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and 'Choice Twit' for his Twitter account.

The teenage singer was spotted dancing during Gomez's performance of 'Love You Like a Love Song' during the ceremony.



Sean Kingston, who presented Bieber with an award, took the opportunity to thank fans for their support following his serious jet ski accident in May.

The Vampire Diaries triumphed in the 'Choice TV Show (Sci-Fi/Fantasy)' category, while its stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev won TV acting awards for their roles.

Glee picked up the prize for 'Choice TV Show (Comedy)', and its stars Cory Monteith and Darren Criss were also recognised with awards.

Taylor Swift won five awards - four in music categories, including 'Choice Female Artist' and the 'Choice Fashion Icon' award.

She was also presented with the 'Ultimate Choice Award' in recognition of her contribution to the entertainment industry.

The Twilight series also continued its success at the awards. Taylor Lautner was given the 'Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor' award for his role in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, while the 'Choice Movie Scene Stealers' award was presented to Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene.

Robert Pattinson claimed the inaugural 'Choice Vampire' trophy, but also secured the 'Choice Actor (Drama)' award for his role in Water for Elephants.

Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher led the audience in a singalong of 'Teenage Dream' by Katy Perry when he accepted the 'Choice Movie Actor (Romantic Comedy)' award for his role in No Strings Attached.

Emma Stone won the 'Choice Movie Actress (Romantic Comedy)' award for Easy A.

The Harry Potter series was also honoured with multiple awards, notably 'Choice Movie of the Summer' for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
