X-Men III: The Last Stand's Rebecca Romijin says that she was devastated by the tabloids' criticism of her weight gain as she had never felt better in her life.
The model/actress had spent years training and eating very little to maintain her body shape, but had stopped her intense work-out schedule and begun to enjoy romantic dinners and lazy weekends with fiancé Jerry O'Connell.
She explained: "I was focusing on my personal life for the first time in years and really enjoying myself. But getting attention from the tabloids for my 'relaxation period' was awful and confusing. I'd never felt better emotionally and physically, and yet I was being told I was fat!"
However, she did have to 'get back into shape' to appear on the cover of the 2006 Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. She lost the weight, but now feels that she has found a balance between her career and personal happiness.
She said: "I just want things to be really easy and peaceful. I feel like I've found harmony."
