The 'I Don't Want to Be' singer was hospitalised on Monday after he was assaulted by a group of men during a late night walk through Manhattan's East Village.
It was later revealed that DeGraw was hit by a cab while seeking help for injuries sustained in the incident, though he is now said to be in a stable condition.
Posting on his Twitter page on Tuesday, DeGraw wrote: "Hi my friends... Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys.
"Honestly, I don't remember much. I only know I can recover from here."
Police are currently investigating the attack. The motive behind the assault is as yet unknown.
