Samantha Ronson 'charged over DUI incident'

Samantha Ronson has been formally charged in her recent DUI case.

The DJ was arrested earlier this month in Baker, California after she failed a field sobriety test when she was stopped for speeding.

After refusing to take a breathalyzer test, she was taken into custody where she was found to be over the legal California blood alcohol limit. She subsequently posted bail and was released.

TMZ now reports that Ronson has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI, one for driving under the influence and another for driving with a blood alcohol level over .08.

The 34-year-old, who was previously involved with Lindsay Lohan, could face a $1,000 (£613) fine and up to six months in prison if found guilty, but is expected to only receive probation as she has no prior offences.

Ronson was injured in an accident in April after crashing her BMX bike while trying to avoid an oncoming car.
