Director Stephen Daldry, who worked alongside Bullock on the film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, said that the Blind Side star focused on her acting career as a way to cope with her divorce from Jesse James.
"She was very keen to get back to work," Daldry told People: "She threw herself in with her usual enthusiasm and energy, and she was very relaxed."
Daldry went on to say that Bullock's adopted son Louis also helped the actress to deal with her pain.
"She had little Louis with her, and it was a very familial environment on set," he said.
James recently called off his engagement from LA Ink star Kat Von D after proposing to the 29-year-old in January.
Bullock surprised her Proposal co-star Ryan Reynolds last week at the premiere of his latest film The Change-Up to show her support for the actor.
