The singer, who has set up a charity collection for those affected in East London, said that all citizens need to "take responsibility" in the aftermath of the riots.
She told Digital Spy: "It was going on right next to my house which was a bit scary, but everyone was feeling the same that night.
"There's no simple answer. We can't ignore what's happened and we all need to take responsibility and accept that something has gone seriously wrong somewhere in how we've been running the country and how we've been living."
Nash continued: "The people that are doing this are not happy and well-rounded - they're aggressive, angry and have no sympathy for people."
Asked if she thought the world's perception of London had changed, she said: "I've never felt prouder to call myself a Londoner. What I'd like the rest of the world to know is that a lot of people here are in such high spirits.
"It was the day after the riots we started helping out and people were calm and happy. We now need to focus on the positive stuff."
The public can donate items for collection at Hoxton Square and Camden.
Nash recently appeared on ITV1's Daybreak, where she accused rioters of having "no conscience".
