Miranda Cosgrove tour bus crash was 'life-threatening'

Miranda Cosgrove's mother and driver were reportedly seriously injured in the star's recent tour bus crash.

The iCarly star suffered a broken ankle after the bus collided with a tractor trailer, prompting her to postpone her tour dates for the foreseeable future.

People has since reported that the accident was "life-threatening" and that the five people involved in the incident are lucky to have escaped safely.

"Miranda's mum was on the bus with her and got really beaten up by the crash. She's expected to fully recover, but it's scary because the driver was hurt, too, and he's in really bad shape," a source told the publication.

"This was a life-threatening crash. A piece from the tractor-trailer went straight through the windshield and the driver's arm was sliced all the way through."

Cosgrove is said to be "really shaken up" following the crash and has been handling significant paparazzi presence while in hospital.

Nevertheless, she tweeted earlier today to reassure her fans that "everyone's gonna be okay", calling the incident "extremely scary".

The singer revealed in March that she plans to make music her priority and pursue career paths outside of acting in the future.
