The X Factor USA judge admitted that she was caught off-guard by the 'Don't Cha' girlband's raunchy attire, having previously been known for her "sweet" side.
"I cried when I saw my first Pussycat Doll costume," she told Marie Claire. "It was my first photo shoot, and I wasn't used to wearing clothes like that.
"My friends from high school were like, 'Oh, my gosh, our sweet little Nicole'. It's growing up, though, right? I'm a woman, and it's part of owning what you are."
In the same interview, Scherzinger vowed that it would take more than a few uncomfortable experiences to stop her from striving for success.
"I definitely have the eye of the tiger. I've fought my way to where I am and will continue to do so," she stated. "When I believe in something, I go after it. It's very hard to tell me 'no'."
Scherzinger previously admitted to being a "fragile and vulnerable" child.
She last week unveiled the video for her latest single 'Wet', the fourth release from her debut LP Killer Love.
