Mel Gibson ex Oksana Grigorieva wants $500k for son's trauma

Mel Gibson's ex-partner Oksana Grigorieva has demanded that the actor pay $500,000 (£307,000) to her 14-year-old son for the trauma caused during his alleged domestic assault.

The Braveheart actor was sentenced to 16 hours of community service and one year of counselling after pleading no contest to misdemeanour battery charges in March, which were brought against him by Grigorieva after a violent altercation back in January 2009.

Despite dropping her domestic violence lawsuit against the Oscar-winner in May, Grigorieva has now told the judge overseeing their custody battle for 21-month-old daughter Lucia that Gibson should pay compensation to her son Alexander, whose father is former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.

According to TMZ, Oksana has claimed that Gibson verbally abused Alexander on the night of the assault and scared him so much that he was forced to take shelter underneath their bed.

Her allegations that Gibson threw Alexander onto a table on a separate occasion have been denied by the 55-year-old's team.

Gibson insisted back in April that he actually has a "mundane" private life.
