The former Two and a Half Men actor's appearance at the music festival in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois on Saturday night was met with both boos and jeers, according to reports.
Video from the event shows several fans cheering for the star, although he also has to avoid an object thrown at the stage.
At the end of the video, he catches another object and jokes that he will leave the stage and make way for the next act "before he gets impaled".

Insane Clown Posse told The Hollywood Reporter before the festival that Sheen agreed to host the Saturday night event because he "wanted to do something different".
Violent J said: "Even when you're Charlie Sheen status, somebody that's seen it all, you've still never seen anything like the Gathering. There's nothing like it. I think Juggalos won't be respected until 20 years after they're done.
"Everybody will look back on it and say, that was great. That was history. Certain people recognise that now. They understand this is something special and unique that's never happened in rock and roll. Charlie Sheen and his managers recognised it."
Sheen took to his Twitter account after the event to say: "Gathering of The Juggalos When I say Tech you say 9..! These guys blew my mind Do not walk... Run to get their new album! #tech9 (sic)"
Sheen will be the subject of a Comedy Central roast next month to be hosted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
He has also revealed plans to return to television in a small screen adaptation of the comedy movie Anger Management, which revolves around a therapist who struggles to deal with his anger issues.
