The singer and Tangled actress, who acts as an ambassador for the U.N. Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign, visited the African country with health organisation Population Services International to increase education and preventative measures against the potentially deadly condition.
"I'm meeting the people who need these nets to stay safe from malaria - from two year olds to the Prime Minister," Moore said.
"I'm proud to be a part of this historic effort that will save thousands of lives here in Cameroon, and grateful for the help of so many American supporters who are donating to make this possible."
Moore revealed in January that she had begun work on her new studio album, which she has said will be influenced by '70s music.
She has sworn off starring in any more romantic comedies, saying that she wants to pursue roles which allow her to grow and feel more creatively fulfilled.
