Director Michael Winner admitted to turning down an OBE in the Queen's 80th birthday honours list - because he thinks it is a prize that you get "if you clean the toilets well in King's Cross Station."
He was offered the award as a result of his continued campaign for a permenant memorial to police officers killed in the line of duty.
Mr. Winner remarked, "I'm very glad that they recognise my considerable skills as a toilet cleaner.
"But when you look at the rubbish who are getting these awards and the absolute non-service that they have given to the nation...you say 'What company am I in?'"
Winner says OBEs are for toilet cleaners
