Wealth management firm Merrill Lynch Credit Corp has filed a legal suit claiming that Reynolds hasn't made mortgage payments on his Hobe Sound, Florida home since September 2010.
Merrill Lynch is seeking full payment of the $1.2m owed in back-costs and asking Reynolds to pay attorney fees, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Reynolds also reportedly has a second $750,000 (£455,955) mortgage on Valhalla with BankAtlantic.
The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas actor first purchased the home in 1994, while still married to ex-wife Loni Anderson.
Reynolds has been unsuccessful in his attempts to sell Valhalla, which is valued at $2.4m (£1.4m).
A rep for Reynolds declined to comment on the legal filing.
Reynolds will next star opposite LeAnn Rimes in the television movie Reel Love, which airs in November on CMT.
