Kelly Preston: 'Scientology helped me cope with Jett's death'

Kelly Preston has credited Scientology with helping her cope with her son's death

Preston's 16-year-old son Jett died of a seizure in January 2009. Preston, who is married to actor John Travolta, revealed that the religion provided a source of comfort during the difficult time.

"To be honest, [it was] the Scientology Centre," Preston told Health Magazine. "I don't know if I would have made it through without it."

Preston gave birth to a second son named Benjamin in November 2010. The actress opened up about the miraculous pregnancy, admitting that she couldn't believe the news at first.

"We [had been trying] for quite a few years," Preston said. "When I found out I was pregnant, I was floored. I'd snuck out of bed and then came back and woke Johnny up in bed. We both started crying. It was wonderful."

In June, Travolta himself credited Scientology with helping him maintain a strong relationship with Preston, insisting that faith plays a key role in their marriage.
