The Grown Ups actress admitted that while she understands the urge to preserve one's youthful appearance, she feels that there are more "natural" ways to do it than going under the knife.
"I believe that every woman is entitled to fight to preserve her youth," Hayek explained in an interview with Elle.
"[Plastic surgery is] like the uniform of a generation. And it's not necessarily beautiful. It's not wrinkled-looking, but it's not beautiful."
However, Hayek went on to say that getting older does not have to be a negative thing, adding: "Within you there is beauty, and you have to learn how to find it and enhance it in a natural way, One thing that is exciting about being a woman is that you can rediscover your beauty over and over and over."
Hayek has previously said that she loves getting older in Hollywood and that it has not affected her career in a negative way.
She recently admitted that she is often left exhausted while trying to balance her career with mothering her 3-year-old daughter Valentina.
