Ice Cube joins hip-hop attack on Oprah

Ice Cube has joined other rap stars such as Ludacris and 50 cent in their criticism of chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

Ludacris publicly attacked Winfrey for her stance on hip-hop stars, and for the way she treated him when he appeared on her show. He had appeared as part of a promotion for the movie Crash, but Winfrey seemed determined to criticise the rap star for his lyrics, and even apparently pulled him to one side after the show to try and convince him of the error of his ways.

Now rapper-turned-movie mogul Ice Cube has joined the growing number of hip-hop stars criticising Winfrey, saying that she had refused to interview him while he was promoting his hit comedy Barbershop.

He told FHM: "I've been involved in three projects pitched to her, but I've never been asked to participate.

"For Barbershop, she had Cedric The Entertainer and Eve on, but I wasn't invited. Maybe she's got a problem with hip-hop.

"She's had damn rapists, child molesters and lying authors (James Frey) on her show. And, if I'm not a rags-to-riches story for her, who is?"
