Betty White voted 'most trusted celebrity'

Betty White has been named the most trusted celebrity in a new poll.

The 89-year-old former Golden Girls star was also ranked as the most popular, in the Reuters/Ipsos survey.

To be named most popular, White had a "favourable" rating of 86% vote of 2,000 US adults, with only 3% having an unfavourable opinion of her. She beat Denzel Washington into second place and Sandra Bullock into third.

In separate votes, the actress was named the most trusted celebrity and the one most likely to boost business for the brands she endorses.

The least popular celebrity was Paris Hilton, who had a 60% "unfavourable" rating, beating Charlie Sheen into second place and Britney Spears to third.
