The taxi driver confirmed this week that his plans for an alcoholism support centre had been shelved after finding that the name 'The Amy Winehouse Foundation' had already been registered.
In the wake of the development, Mitch took to Twitter to slam the unknown individual for 'stealing' the name and letting the generosity of Amy's fans go to waste.
"We all have to bombard the tabloids' websites to put pressure on this d**khead who stole our foundation name," he wrote today.
"Instead of concentrating on allocating funding I am having to send cheques back cos we don't haven't got bank ac in that name. (sic)"
Mitch went on to reveal that although the holder of the name had attempted to sell it back, they had also contacted Amy's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil for help in creating the foundation.
"Our solicitors are all over this," Mitch warned. "But it takes time. Meanwhile we can't get on with [the] foundation."
