The Drive actor intervened in an argument between two men on St. Mark's Place in Manhattan's East Village last weekend.
The unnamed men were said to be fighting over a piece of artwork, with one man accused of trying to take the piece without paying.
Several others became involved in the exchange, which prompted Gosling to enter and place himself between the men to keep them from physically assaulting one another.
The incident was caught on camera by an onlooker, who later uploaded the clip to YouTube.
Gosling recently confessed that he is addicted to buying candy and still feels young-at-heart because of growing up as part of the Mickey Mouse Club.
