The singer's father told The Sun that the report showed the inaccuracy of some of the rumours about his daughter's final days.
"This doesn't make me feel the loss of my daughter any less, but we are pleased to be able to set the record straight to a certain extent," Mitch said.
"[Amy's boyfriend] Reg [Traviss] has said that the person that she has been painted as in some quarters was just so far away from the Amy he knew. Some of the stories of her last few days were just not how they led their life together."
It had been claimed that Amy spent £1,200 on crack cocaine and heroin on the day of her death. Other reports suggested that she "fell off the wagon and then some more" after her final public appearance in July.
During her funeral, Mitch claimed that Amy had "conquered her drug dependency" three years before her death and had stopped drinking alcohol for three weeks.
A supposed family source added to the newspaper: "The family had been upset at some of the speculation about the circumstances surrounding her death and at people coming forward claiming to know what happened who clearly did not.
"They wanted to end rumours about drugs. Mitch made it clear at the funeral how he thought it happened and these results begin to back that up."
The inquest into Amy's death will report its verdict in October.
