American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, who chairs BAFTA Los Angeles, announced that Stiller will be given the prestigious prize at the Britannia Awards in November.
Lythgoe praised Stiller as "a master of comedy, who, just like the legendary filmmaker for whom this award is named, embodies the remarkable multi-hyphenate talents of actor, writer, director and producer".
Helena Bonham Carter and Disney animator John Lasseter will also receive tributes at the ceremony.
Betty White was last year's recipient of the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.
The 2011 Britannia Awards are held on November 30 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Stiller stars with Eddie Murphy in the upcoming film Tower Heist, which opens in the US and UK on November 4.
