Jenson Button will take part in a public question and answer session, as part of Vodafone's upcoming Formula 1 festival in Manchester.

The city will play host to the event, which will see the former World Drivers' Champion drive his Vodafone McClaren Mercedes car at top speed, up and down one of the city centre's streets - an experience one lucky fan will get to share.

The three-day celebration of F1 will take place over the August bank holiday weekend, kicking off on Friday, August 27.

"Driving a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes car through Manchester is going to be pretty cool," Button said. "We do a lot of demos round the world where we get to have some fun with the cars and entertain the crowds, so it is great to come home to do one.

"I'm looking forward to putting on a show, creating some noise, smoke and hopefully entertaining the crowds. There's also the chance for the spectators to win some great prizes so I hope Manchester and its Vodafone VIP customers are going to be out in force."

The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Fan Zone in Albert Square will be open to access for Vodafone customers and up to three of their friends. As well as Button's appearance on Monday, racing fans will also be able to enjoy a number of interactive F1 experiences.

Among them will be a pit stop challenge, a sit in Vodafone McLaren Mercedes car, an F1 simulator and an exhibition of race suits and helmets.
