Gilbert Gottfried has insisted that he has not been deterred from making offensive jokes on Twitter.

The comedian was fired as the voice of insurance giant Aflac in March after a number of insensitive tweets regarding the tsunami in Japan.

While Gottfried later apologised for the remarks, he has now admitted that he has not changed his approach to the social networking site since the incident.

"What have I got to lose now? You would think I would have learned my lesson," he said during an appearance on New York Live.

Following the interview, Gottfried took to his Twitter page yet again to comment on the recent 5.9 magnitude earthquake which hit the East Coast of the US on Tuesday.

"Urgent. Find my tsunami jokes and insert East Coast Earthquake," he wrote. "New report... East Coast suffers an Earthquake. Japan is laughing its ass off."

Gottfried previously blamed the media for being axed from Aflac, claiming that the press attempted to turn him into a villain after his Japan jokes.
