Jaime Pressly has been sentenced to three years' probation in her recent DUI case.

The My Name Is Earl actress was arrested in January after failing a sobriety test during a routine traffic stop in Santa Monica, California.

She later pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges.

Pressly struck a deal with prosecutors this week in order to avoid the standard six months of jail time in the case, instead pleading 'no contest' to a misdemeanour DUI charge in exchange for the summary probation, reports E! Online.

Santa Monica Deputy City Attorney Melanie Skehar also revealed that Pressly will be forced to pay $390 (£240) in fees as well as attend a six-month alcohol education programme, a step down from the standard nine-month programme.

Pressly was previously said to be worried about how the DUI conviction would affect her public image.
