Ashlee Simpson 'drunk dials ex-husband Pete Wentz to profess her love'

Ashlee Simpson recently drunk-dialed her ex-husband Pete Wentz to profess her love, it has been reported.

A source close to the couple claimed that Simpson expressed a desire to get back together with Wentz during the drunken phone call, but the former Fall Out Boy bassist was not receptive.

A friend of the rocker told Us Weekly: "[Pete] will never go back to her. He's in a good place."

Simpson's rep denied that the incident ever took place.

The two stars tied the knot in April 2008 and welcomed their first son Bronx Mowgli Wentz later that year.

Simpson filed for divorce after three years of marriage in February, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation.

Simpson was recently rumoured to be dating Boardwalk Empire actor Vincent Piazza.
