David Hasselhoff: 'It was love at first sight with Hayley Roberts'

David Hasselhoff has admitted that he wanted a relationship with girlfriend Hayley Roberts from the moment he first saw her in Wales.

The Britain's Got Talent judge, who divorced Celebrity Big Brother contestant Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff in 2006, has been dating Debenhams shop ­assistant Roberts since April.

"Hayley is proof that Britain really does have talent," Hasselhoff told The Sunday Mirror. "I was walking into the St David's Hotel in Cardiff when we were in Wales for Britain's Got Talent and she came up and asked for a photograph.

"I just saw this girl walk out the bar and I just pointed and went, 'Her, wow'. I made a pact with myself a long time ago that if I ever walked past a woman who moved me physically, more than just a sexual urge, then I would tell her, from the heart. I would not let that pass me by.

"I've been able to take my beautiful girlfriend out of a retail store where she's making £5.90 an hour. Now she doesn't have to worry. I say, 'Look, you're a beautiful girl, follow what God gave you' and I'm giving her the confidence and have somebody to share my life with."

Hasselhoff added that he recently got lost in the Rhondda Valley and only found his way back to Roberts's home in Glynneath, near Merthyr Tydfil after he knocked on a local's door and offered them a signed picture in exchange for directions.

Meanwhile, Roberts is said to have quit her job at Debenhams after moving into a £1.2m home in Wales with the actor.
