The Take That star, now back in Los Angeles following the man-band's recent 'Progress' tour, is working on his new solo album which he says he could be his most "consistent" yet.
Williams wrote on his blog: "I had some guests for dinner. One, who didn't know anything about me, was 57. We were talking about skiing and he said, 'You and I have to be careful at our age'. Then he referred again to 'our' age.
"It's the f**king beard, isn't it? I've trimmed it down."
Williams also posted a picture of his new goatee, commenting: "I have new grey stuff ... It wasn't there when I last grew one."
