Coleen Rooney blackmailer pleads guilty

A 28-year-old man has admitted to blackmailing Coleen Rooney.

It was revealed in February that three people had been arrested, after Coleen and husband Wayne were targeted. An alleged "five-figure" cash amount was demanded for photographs obtained from a misplaced camera.

Coleen had lost the mobile phone, which contained pictures of the couple's son, while attending a Black Eyed Peas concert in Manchester's MEN Arena in May last year.

Police began investigating the plot after the 25-year-old was contacted with the alleged demands.

Lee Platt, 28, from Manchester, also admitted to handling the stolen camera. He will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court at a later date.

Jennifer Green, 25, and Steven Malcolm, 42, also both from the city, denied the same charges.
