The survey, carried out by the internet communications company, aimed to find out which member of the royal family Britons would most like to speak with.
The late princess, who died in a Paris car crash 14 years ago today, secured 13% of the overall vote. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, polled seventh with just 4% naming her.
King Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and Prince Harry all placed above the duchess, while Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall came last.

Meanwhile, Diana also came seventh in the top ten celebrities Skype users want to interact with. She was the only female to feature in the list, which was topped by broadcaster Stephen Fry.
Responding to his success in the poll, Fry told The Mirror: "Well good heavens. I'm completely overcome. I shall have to make sure my Skype manners are absolutely up to the mark. No more video Skyping in my pyjamas or while eating. I'm honoured to be in such august company."
