Pregnant Mel B rushed to LA hospital to give birth

Pregnant singer Mel B has been taken into hospital, a report claims.

According to TMZ, the 36-year-old - real name Melanie Brown - was accompanied to a Los Angeles clinic by husband Stephen Belafonte and a male minder earlier this morning.

The Australian X Factor judge and former Spice Girls star, who is expecting her first child with Belafonte, is three weeks overdue.

Yesterday, she told a radio station that she had been attempting to force the labour by indulging in "hot food", "sex" and "violence".

She has previously said that she wants the sex of her unborn baby to remain a surprise.

Mel B's new arrival will join her daughters, 12-year-old Phoneix Chi with dancer Jimmy Gulzar, and 4-year-old Angel Iris with Eddie Murphy.
