Former Coronation Street actor Christopher Quinten today faced charges of rape in Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court.
The court heard that the 48-year-old, who played Brian Tilsley in the show, plied a 21-year-old student full of cocaine before raping her last year.
Prosecutor Linda Strudwick told the court: "He chatted to her in a friendly way and over quite a period of time but then eventually went to kiss her. He ignored her rejections, he ignored her refusals and he became more insistent. He positioned himself between her legs in a way which made it impossible for her to move past him and away from him and eventually he raped her."
The actor denies a single count of rape, and the trial is expected to last five days.
