Ronan Keating has admitted that he couldn't have completed a recent charity swim without the support he received from wife Yvonne.

The Boyzone star confirmed that their relationship is now back on track, over a year after he cheated on Yvonne with backing dancer Francine Cornell.

The singer swam 56 miles across the Irish Sea with fellow celebrities Jenny Frost, Jason Bradbury and Pamela Stephenson to raise money for Cancer Research and the Marie Keating Foundation.

"We're doing great. I love her to bits and I couldn't have done this without her," he told The Mirror.

"Yvonne has been on the boat for the last few days which has been fantastic. It's been wonderful. When I was down and feeling sorry for myself and feeling I wasn't able to do it, she was there pushing me on and helping me through it and being a shoulder when I needed it.

"There's the cold to deal with but worse is the jellyfish called Lion's Mane. They are seriously, seriously dangerous. And we came across hundreds of them. I remember putting my face in the water during my second swim and they were all around me.

"It scared the bejesus out of me. I lost my breath. They are like a brain just sitting there under the surface. And I didn't like swimming at night time. It's pitch black and your imagination runs away with you. I was imagining all sorts of creatures."

Sir Richard Branson was also due to complete the charity swim but was forced to pull out following the fire on Necker Island.
