Heather Mills' best friend has appeared on a US chat show to defend her – and claimed she only had a baby to please Paul McCartney.
In an interview for Extra, Michelle Elizabeth said she had to speak out to combat the negative press about her friend.
"It was very hard for her to have the child," she explained. "Heather has metal pieces in her pelvis and doctors said that she should not have a child but she went through it because she actually loved Paul.
"She's being attacked from everywhere. It's horrible. I need to speak, even though she was not really up for it."
Meanwhile, Mills is reportedly planning to appear on CNN's Larry King Live to hit back at the claims herself.
