Grant suing paper for relationship claims

Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan have launched legal proceedings against a national newspaper over claims it made about their relationship.
The libel action is against an article in the May 3 Daily Mail titled "I never knew he was such a good actor".
London solicitors Schillings, who are making the claim for the couple, said the article is "false and defamatory".
The newspaper yesterday (June 5) printed a different and prominent article about the pair saying they have been "secretly" engaged for six months.
Schillings have warned other media, saying of the claim that "[since it] constitutes the entire, specious, basis for the remainder of the article it follows that the numerous allegations including supposed quotes from sources are false and indeed fabricated".
