The former Punky Brewster actress said that she still looks back fondly on dating Wahlberg while the two stars were teenagers.
"He was more of a friend than anything. I had a mad, crazy crush on him - the biggest crush of my life! He was great and such a nice guy," Moon Frye told Parade.
She continued: "Yes, it was totally crazy love. Who wasn't crazy about him? I just saw him this morning doing a satellite media tour and I was doing mine, and I was like, 'Oh, that Boston boy'."
Moon Frye also revealed that her decision to take up acting as a child only came after her dreams of being an astronaut were dashed.
"I wanted to be an astronaut and wanted to go to space camp, but then I found out that I was too short to become an astronaut. My mum really made me believe that if I worked hard enough and if I really wanted to do it, I could do it," Moon Frye recalled.
Her new parenting book Happy Chaos is available for purchase now.
