Gwyneth Paltrow: 'I'm romantic but realistic'

Gwyneth Paltrow has said that while she is a strong believer in romance, she also considers herself to be a "realist".

The Contagion actress insisted that she has become more accepting of flaws in herself and others as she has got older, and tries not to judge anyone as nobody is perfect.

"I am a great romantic - but I also think you can be a romantic and a realist. Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extra-marital affairs," Paltrow explained in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.

"It's like we're flawed - we're human beings and sometimes you make choices that other people are going to judge. That's their problem but I really think that the more I live my life the more I learn not to judge people for what they do. I think we're all trying our best but life is complicated."

Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, confessed that the relationship is not easy but that the pair take their hardships in their stride.

She has previously said that she worries she will end up in an asylum due to her obsession with perfection.
