The pair starred in the Oprah Winfrey Network reality series Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals, which traced their journey to make peace after not speaking to each other for decades.
The season finale of The O'Neals saw Ryan and Tatum tell their respective therapists that they planned to maintain their newly peaceful relationship.
Ryan has disclosed that he and Tatum never truly resolved their disagreements, telling TV Guide: "We only reconciled on the show, not in life... we don't speak."
He added: "In fact, we're further apart now than we were when we started the show. So thanks, Oprah, for all your help."
Tatum has yet to offer any comment on her father's remarks.
Ryan and the late Farrah Fawcett's son Redmond was sentenced to one year in rehab in August after pleading no contest to drug and weapons charges.
