Simon Cowell 'calls off engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy'

Simon Cowell's engagement to fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy is rumoured to have been called off.

The make-up artist, who got engaged to Cowell last year, has apparently moved out of his mansion and into another home dubbed the 'girlfriend graveyard' after his ex Terri Seymour stayed there when they separated in 2008.

"It looks like history is repeating itself," a friend told The Mirror. "Some people have jokingly said that this other house is his girlfriend graveyard. It's almost as though the girls get sent there when the relationship has died.

"When Simon split up with Terri she moved into the hillside house for about 18 months before then moving to another pad which Simon is supposed to have paid for."

A member of staff at the £3.5m house confirmed that Hussainy is living in the property, but refused to comment on reports of a split.

"I haven't seen Mezhgan for months," Cowell's mum Julie said. "She's been in America all this time and I don't know if she's working or what. She has her make-up company and is very busy and I've been on holiday, but she hasn't rung me for weeks."

Cowell refused to answer questions over whether he is still engaged earlier this week, but confessed that he has always been "fascinated" by his X Factor USA co-star Paula Abdul.
