Kim Kardashian not attempting to buy sex tape, says owner

Kim Kardashian is not the mystery individual attempting to purchase her infamous sex tape, its current owner has stated.

It emerged last month that an unknown buyer has tried to acquire footage of Kardashian with her ex-boyfriend Ray J from adult film company Vivid Entertainment.

The reality star and her new husband Kris Humphries are widely speculated to be behind the bid, though Vivid boss Steve Hirsch today revealed that this is apparently not the case.

"It made sense the entire time it would be Kim, but it appears it's not," he told TMZ.

Hirsch added that he has met with a representative for the interested party several times, but they have not yet been able to gather the tape's $30m (£18m) asking price.

He also claimed that the buyer will reveal their identity and detail their motivation for taking the tape off the market if the bid is successful.

Kardashian's representatives have repeatedly denied her involvement in the deal.
