Grohl revealed during an appearance on Conan that he'd been stopped by police on his way to the show's LA studios for speeding and talking on his phone while driving.
California law bans drivers from holding a phone while behind the wheel.
'Times Like These' singer Grohl told host Conan O'Brien that the authorities were quite understanding, saying: "He let me off with a warning for the speeding but gave me the thing-a-ding (ticket) for talking on the phone."
