The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star said that while she is grateful for her successful career, she sometimes worries about the effects that her hectic showbiz life may have on her young children, 4-year-old son Liam and 3-year-old daughter Stella.
"There are days when I struggle with wanting to be a full-time, stay-at-home mum, and feeling guilty about that because I work. [One mum at school recently said,] 'Oh, you never go to anything.' That hit me really hard," Spelling said in an interview with Parenting magazine.
"I'm scared of screwing up my kids. I thought that once we were out of the baby stage, parenting would be a breeze. You just feel at every turn like, 'Whoa, am I making the right decisions, setting the right boundaries?'"
However, Spelling insisted that she does not compare herself to other mothers and instead makes her own decisions on what's best for her children.
"I don't have many mommy role models… and I'm glad. I used to be obsessed with what other mums would do, but listening to your maternal instincts is always the right decision," she said.
Spelling announced in April that she and husband Dean McDermott will welcome their third child later this year.
