'Farmer Wants a Wife' star Chris Newsome welcomes second child

Chris Newsome from The Farmer Wants a Wife has welcomed a second child.

The Australian farmer, who married Kim after they met on the reality matchmaking television show four years ago, revealed that they have named their new son Corbin John. They already have daughter Charlotte Ann together.

Chris told New Idea magazine: "We're pretty busy but we're very happy. We've done a heck of a lot since I first saw Kim sitting on a bale, that's for sure!"

Kim said of the birth: "I was due to be induced but [the baby] had other ideas. I was still packing my bag when the contractions started. We hit every red light on the way to hospital and I didn't know if we were going to make it in time. I just had a bit of gas - well, quite a lot of gas actually - so I was really lucky.

"Corbin hardly ever cries and he's really, really placid. He slept through the night from about six weeks and he just giggles his head off. I'm so lucky. I didn't think we'd be fortunate enough to have a little pigeon pair - but here he is!"

Kim described Chris as a "good husband and father" and added: "I sometimes wonder how life would have been if I hadn't gone on the show, but I'm so glad I did. Chris is such a nice person - such a lovely, gentle, genuine, funny man."

Rob Hodges and Jo Fincham, who met on the Australian reality television show in 2007 and married in 2008, welcomed a baby girl earlier this year.

Nathan McClymont and Amanda Ecker from the fifth season married in June, shortly after Damian Atkins and Rachael Peynenborg from the 2009 series announced their pregnancy. Scott Warby and Clare Spark from season four also recently got engaged.

The 2011 series of The Farmer Wants a Wife currently airs on Monday nights at 7.30pm on Channel Seven.
