Halle Berry breaks foot while in Spain to film 'Cloud Atlas'

Halle Berry was hospitalised on Wednesday after breaking her foot.

The Oscar-winning actress reportedly suffered the injury after taking a misstep while spending time in Spain.

Berry was released from a local hospital after doctors put a cast on her injured foot.

The star has been in Europe filming the upcoming science fiction film Cloud Atlas, where she plays a reporter investigating a murder at a nuclear plant.

Cloud Atlas's distributor Warner Bros confirmed Berry's injury in a statement to USA Today, saying: "Halle Berry suffered a foot injury today while walking in Mallorca on a day off from filming Cloud Atlas. Production has adjusted their schedule and will continue filming."

Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant and Jim Broadbent are among Berry's co-stars in Cloud Atlas, which is expected to be released next October.
